Magickal Happenings with Oshuyn...

My craft name is Oshuyn Awahili, named in honor of the Yoruba Goddess Oshun.  Oshun is the Goddess of love, divination, Witchcraft, sensuality, sweet water, fertility, and of helping those in need.  

I grew up on a farm, surrounded by all the beauties of nature.  A lot of my younger days were spent quietly walking through the trees by the creek in search of magical things and faeries.  I always came back with pocket fulls of rocks and trinkets which I considered precious gifts, and I was usually wet and dirty but happy. 

I was brought up Christian, but always felt there was just a little more for me, that I was missing something.  I remember buying my first Tarot deck when I was in middle school at a book store.  I hid that deck and never spoke of it.  But was completely mesmerized with the energies I felt when I was around it.   The years went by and I had my share of troubles and dark moments, but something always gave me strength to go on, and that same deck of cards traveled with me through everything.  

I finally realized that the strength of the earth, the feel of the breeze, the warmth of the sun, and the emotions of the waters all fed me spiritually and gave me my strength.  Everything opened up in my life at that moment.  I started seeing things before they happened, would dream of things that would come true, see and hear spirits, feel the emotions of people without speaking to them, and made a wonderful connection with my inner self.  

I felt that I needed to find a type of formal training.  After much research and countless hours on the internet, I found Sacred Mists.  This amazing place led me to who I really am and has given me the guidance to use my gifts to help myself on my journey.  Sacred Mists is an online Wiccan college with their traditions based in Celtic/Faerie/Eclectic.  The support I received by fellow students and by the Arch Priestess and High Elder Lady Raven Moonshadow goes beyond what words can explain.  I am a still an active student and am in awe daily of all that I learn.  You can read more on Sacred Mists, my daily activites, classes, and fun things happening in the community by visiting my blog.  There is a direct link to the Sacred Mists Wiccan College site above or you can access it right here.

I am a Tarot Reader, Reiki Healer, Spiritual Counselor, Witch, Empath, student, daughter, sister, mother, wife, am of the Cancer sign, and a friend to all.  I am a free spirited person, happy and amazed at the little things.  What I offer comes from the heart and my spirit guides.  I believe in the beauty of all things, good or bad.  I support everyones beliefs in religion and encourage them to hold true to what is in their mind, body, and spirit.
